St Michael’s Parish Weekend Sept 28th – 30th

Hello All

I'm delighted that to say that the St George's planning group have decided to expand the Flower Festival scheduled for 14th July with many of the events that had to be cancelled in April! All and any help would be much appreciated just get in touch with me or directly with Dave Tidey.

This means that the St Michael's Weekend in September will now revert to the original plan and focus from the Friday 28th night to Sunday 30th evening – ALL at St Michael's. We will be having a planning for this on Wednesday 16th at 7.30 pm at St Michael's – I really cannot emphasise strongly enough just how important it is to make events such as these as successful as possible! We need EVERY penny we can raise.

Come and join us with your ideas and enthusiasm for St Michael's Weekend

Cancellation of Coach trip to France 16th June

Sadly, I have to let you know that I have had to cancel the Coach Trip to France on 16th June – we have had a number of cancellations which has made this nonviable.
I will be writing/emailing the Dining Club and Digital Photogroup so if you are in these groups please forgive the doubling or tripling of information!

St George’s Weekend

Hello All

Sadly, I have to say that the decision has had to be made to cancel all events on SATURDAY & SUNDAY of this weekend -

Friday night will go ahead as arranged

As you probably realize this is entirely due to the inclement weather we are experiencing at the moment – of course we rejoice with the farmers that this deluge has come in the nick of time but sadly, just a few days to early for us. Our thanks to Dave Tidey and the army of folk who were working so hard for this to be a success. One can only hope we can put it all on at a later time.

This does also mean a financial loss to the churches of around £7000 – £8000 – so dare I say it, as I did in my APCM letter – it is VITAL we all review our regular giving, to ensure the work of God continues in this parish.

Car Park Security

I have been asked to let you know that on Sunday 1st April at around 13.00 hour to 13.30 hour, a car in St Georges Car Park was broken into and the owner's handbag and other valuables were stolen. This could well a one off opportunist incident but taking into account the spate of shed and garages burglaries in the immediate vicinity, it could well be that we are experiencing an increase in the targeting vulnerable areas.

1 If anyone has any information about the above incident – if you saw anything suspicious at all, after church in the car park, then please contact The Community Police Officer or Fr William who will pass it on

2. DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES IN THE CAR - including Sat naves etc

3. For the time being I will be locking the church simply as a precautionary measure

I really don't think we need to over react to this but it is incumbent on us to take reasonable precautions

APCM Postponed

Notice of Coach Trips

France

In conjunction with the Dining Club I have arranged a coach trip to France on 16th June at £25 per person – we are spending the day in Boulogne but will be happy to drop folk off in Calis and collect on the way back to the Tunnel. At this price the places are being booked very quickly so if you would like to reserve a place please get in touch with Fr William as soon as you can

Singleton and Chichester

There will be a coach trip to the Open Air museum at West Dean on Saturday 19th May at £15 per person – we will spend to morning until just after lunch at the museum and then on to Chichester for the afternoon – again please book your place with Fr William as soon as you can
