St Michael’s Faith and Fun for Kids

If you’re aged 4 – 14 why not come and join St Michael’s Sunday Club? We meet every Sunday morning during term time from 0930 until 1030.

We started back in September full of enthusiasm. Through Jesus’ story of the unforgiving debtor we learnt how God forgives and wants us to forgive. The following week, after hearing Jesus story about workers in a vineyard the children used paint to create their own pictures demonstrating how God is generous in all that he gives us – our life, our world and everything we have.

For the parish weekend Sunday Club made their own delicious homemade scones. Cream teas were served at the Sunday Club Café by our very cheerful, willing and smartly dressed waiters/waitresses.

Making choice makers was part of one of our Sunday club mornings exploring how choice affects our lives. Plenty of laughs were had as we played a ball quiz game that made us think about the answers that Jesus would want us to choose in everyday situations we find ourselves in.

While learning about the bible verse about the wedding feast we had our own mini-feast and put together a short drama to perform at the family service. We also designed invitations inviting family, friends and the congregation at the family service to say YES to Jesus and to share their life with him. 7 of our young people and 1 of our leaders said “Yes” in a wonderful service of confirmation and baptism led by Bishop Lindsay.

Our new programme after half term:

09 November 2008 God is our maker keeper and friend.

16 November 2008 The parable of the talents & how God wants us to use our gifts.

Sunday Club Café open after church – donations towards Hurungwe, Zimbabwe.

23 November 2008 Christ the King.

December will see us busy with exciting activities from Advent leading up to Christmas.

A joint nativity play with the older church youth is in the early stages of creation.
