Brownies LogoFor girls aged between 7 and 10 years, Brownies also meet on Mondays, from 5.50 to 7.15 p.m. The girls do craft activities, games and singing, and also work on interest badges such as First Aid, Fire Safety, Brownie Traditions and Artist. The girls work together in their Six groups, and are encouraged to make decisions together as a pack. Fundraising is important too, and each year the girls choose which charity they would like to support.Guides logoFor girls aged between 10 and 14 years, the Guides meet in the Church Room on Wednesdays between 7.00 and 8.30 p.m. The programme of activities follows on from the Brownies with crafts and badge work, and during the summer term outdoor activities are included wherever possible, such as bike rides and canoeing. In addition, the girls have the opportunity to go on Guide camp each year.

browniesUnfortunately, due to university and family commitments, two of our Brownie guiders will soon be leaving us, and if we are to keep the unit running we need to recruit some enthusiastic volunteers to replace them. Can you spare just a couple of hours a week to help? Or do you know someone who can?

If your daughter is interested in joining one of the units, or you would like to become involved in helping, please contact Andrea Wellstead.
