The Friends of St George’s (FOSG) was set up some 14 years ago to assist in the maintenance of the fabric and the contents of the wonderful medieval parish Church at West Grinstead.

Fund raising by FOSG has been very successful enabling the spire to be reshingled, the windows restored, the 13th /14th century wall painting conserved, new lighting with 17th century style chandeliers (originally in the Haberdashers Hall).

Outside lighting has now been completed and the restoration and conservation of the outstanding monuments is about to begin.

The recent Chairman and Secretary (Mr and Mrs Neil Jacobson) have temporarily moved to their latest Foreign Office posting. The new Chairman is Mr Rupert Mahou and the Secretary is Mr David Tidey.
